The breeding room is separate from the Kuranetarium and plays an extremely important role in sustaining the jellyfish exhibit. It is also referred to as the jellyfish laboratory.
Polyps and young jellyfish are kept and raised in the breeding room. More than 20 species are continuously being bred here for the exhibit. Research is also conducted on the breeding and cultivation of jellyfish.
Not only does Kamo Aquarium carry out its own research, but it also conducts joint research with universities and research organizations. In addition, Kamo Aquarium offers practical training and welcomes personnel from other institutions.
The breeding room also gives educational lectures on jellyfish for children and the general public. Visitors can learn about the ecology of jellyfish and activities related to the Kamo Aquarium jellyfish exhibit.
